Description

In the Student Activity “Topographic Maps of Planet X”, students will map the surface of a “mystery planet” landscape and make predictions about its appearance. This activity introduces students to the coordinate plane, ordered pairs, and concepts of data gathering, graphing, and analysis. .


Instructional Objectives

The student will

  • measure, collect, and analyze data to predict results.
  • use coordinate plane geometry to create a topographical map.
