H2O Extremes (Waterworld)

Description

In H20 Extremes (Waterworld), students will use satellite technology imagery from NASA and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to allow them to explore the impact the cryosphere has on Earth. What would happen to humans if the polar caps of Antarctica completely melted?

 

Instructional Objectives

The student will

  • investigate a "virtual Earth" model on the Internet by using geographic information systems, or GIS.
  • make observations on a global and city level if the ice sheets of Antarctica melted.
