I am a Videographer/Editor at the Marshall Space Flight Center. I create videos for NASA to use to explain to the public what is going on at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and across the Agency. My job is a lot of fun because I get to work with lots of different people, and I get to use all kinds of different footage that NASA has, including space shuttle launches and pictures from outer space. I use a digital video camera to capture footage of the various things that we do at Marshall then I use digital software on computers to edit the videos that we produce.

I have always been fascinated with movies and videos and was very involved with my high school Film Club. We would shoot and edit movies and videos, which were a lot of fun to produce.  It has always been something that I really enjoyed! My father was probably the biggest influence on me going into this field. He had his own television show and encouraged me to spend time with him while he worked. I learned a lot and realized that what he did was what I wanted to do as my career.

Leslie Curtis, project manager for the Propulsive Small Expendable Deployer System (ProSEDS) at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., is leading development of new space transfer technologies to make exploration of our universe more affordable and faster. She spent 10 years working in Marshall's materials processing lab before taking on the responsibility of building the in-space transportation program at Marshall.

Leslie has always enjoyed mathematics and chose the engineering field of study because of the intense use of mathematics applications in engineering. She credits many people at the Marshall Center who have helped her achieve

her career goals. One of those is the Center's former deputy director, Carolyn Griner -- who Curtis says is an "inspiration" and "role model."
