acceleration: change in speed of a body in a unit of time; caused by application of an unbalanced force
conservation of energy: energy lost in one form is gained in another
distance: how far an object travels
displacement: movement from one position to another in a certain direction
dwell time: duration of an applied force
energy: the ability to do work
force: a push or pull exerted on an object to cause it to accelerate
"g's": acceleration value equal to a multiple of the acceleration of gravity on Earth's surface (example: 2 g's = 2 times acceleration of gravity on Earth)
impulse: product of force applied to an object and the time of application
inertia: an object's resistance to motion
kinetic energy: energy due to motion
momentum: product of the mass and velocity of an object
potential energy: energy due to position
propel: to drive forward by means of a force
pressure: force per unit area
psi: a unit of pressure (pounds per square inch)
speed: distance an object travels in a unit of time
transfer of energy: change of one form of energy to another form of energy
thrust: an example of force
